Potala Camp

Amethyst and I were blessed to stay at the Potala Camp site. Only ten days before we arrived, the site was a pasture. Through the leadership and engineering skill of the Potala staff and the hard work of the local people 150 tents were put up.
Although I am not too excited about taking a shower again in irrigation water, it was remarkable that they were able to construct 50 shower/toilet areas in such a short time.
Our camp had a wonderful mix of people - many Italians and Taiwanese and a few other Europeans and a handful of Americans. We made many friends who we are still in touch with.
Our friends will no doubt have as strong memories of the stories we shared at night at the long dinner tables of our experiences during the day at the Teaching Site.
