Ghami (Sept 24)

As we entered Ghami, some monks invited us to come and watch a local farmer threshing grain using an ancient method. An old lady would sweep the grain under the horses' feet as the farmer lead the horses in a circle.

The property we camped in was the nicest of the whole journey. The family were relatives of the King of Mustang and had a larger house and property than most families we stayed with. They had several solar panels, a beautiful vegetable garden (from which our cook made us a great meal) and were situated in an almost mythical looking valley.

Namaste Boy!

You can see how our sherpa team put up our camp in this set of pictures. It was quite something to watch how efficient and fast they were.

The little guy I nicknamed "Namaste Boy." He loved coming up to everyone and putting his hands together and saying "namaste!" I am convinced he is a reincarnated monk! His baby sister never said a word and it took me an hour to get her to give me half a smile.
