On our last evening in Sárospatak, we had dinner in a wonderful restaurant where we had one of the best meals of our journey. We looked at the walls and realized that we had found a treasure trove - the historical records we had been looking for!
On the walls were original photos from the 19th and early 20th century showing life in our ancestors' village. The owners allowed us to photograph the framed photos. I apologize for the glare and rotation issues but they are still remarkable. In my imagination, I can see my grandparents walking down these streets.
I would enjoy hearing from anyone who has additional photos from this era in Hungary.
