Amethyst and I and our friend Karen went to the 43rd Cours D’Elegance on Sunday, July 19, 2015 “on the historic, tree-shaded campus of Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.”
View the multi-page gallery and the collections of hood ornaments and a couple of later model vehicles below.
The 2015 event theme is ‘A Grand Classic Celebration’. The Concours will host a CCCA Grand Classic®, a regional meet for Classic Car Club of America Members featuring American or foreign-made classics built from 1925 to 1948. 50 Full Classics are expected on the show field. Featured in the Grand Classic is a 1930 Packard Model 740 entered by Chris Yarrow. This automobile was once by owned by Mr. Yarrow’s grandfather, and was used to chauffeur King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939.
Jaguar and Woodie
Two of my two favorite later models: the Jaguar Mark IV produced from 1948-1951.

and this “Woodie” which I wouldn’t mind owning.

Many beautiful Packards and other vintage cars including a spectacular Duesenberg.
Hood Ornaments
I wish they still made these beautiful ornaments for our vehicles. I think they are works of art.
