Amethyst photographs a sliver of a rainbow at Crown Point, Oregon in the Columbia Gorge May 12, 2016
Near sunset, Amethyst and I went up to one of our favorite spots, Crown Point. It is a high lookout point where you can see up and down the Columbia Gorge for miles.

Vista House
The famous building Vista House contains exhibits about Oregon history and flora and fauna. It was called by local residents years ago “the most expensive outhouse ever built.”
Sunset at the Columbia Gorge
We like to come up here in all seasons. You never know what you will see. We have been here in 80 mph wind, seen simultaneous lightning strikes on the Oregon and Washington sides of the Columbia River, and of course glorious sunsets. (All photos were taken with an iPhone6+.)
