In September, 2013, Amethyst and I had a wonderful day at the Oregon Renaissance Festival – a great family event for young and old kids. I loved the joust (that’s why so many photos below). Sadly, this particular festival is no longer in operation. I thought it was one of the best I had attended.
“For over 50 years, Renaissance Festivals have been entertaining and enriching generations across the nation by creating a colorful escape to a place filled with chivalry and romance, delicious food and drink, rousing entertainment and amazing artistry from around the country.”
My two favorites were the Washing Well Wenches and the Joust. Enjoy the time travel galleries.
Lovely costumes of actors and attendees and one of my darling, Amethyst.
Washing Well Wenches
We couldn’t stop laughing at the hysterical Washing Well Wenches. Anyone sitting in the front got a free shower! More photos below of them interacting with a very cooperative audience.
This must have reminded me of a past lifetime. The riders and actors were very believable!
