Play to your strengths!
Many years ago, when I was starting a business, a wise friend said to me “You don’t have to know everything or do everything yourself!” You know you have a special talent, a gift, a strong suit, that is driving your work. But it is important to know, too, when a task is not your strength. Is that task website development?
Just because there are website templates on GoDaddy or website builders like WIX doesn’t mean you need to spend dozens of hours learning to do something you will likely not do again. Focusing on growing your business and serving your clients is a much better use of your time. And based on my clients’ experience, those out-of-a-box approaches don’t give you the flexibility to create exactly what you envision.

Entrepreneurs, creatives, coaches, health providers, consultants ...
I am dedicated to helping small business owners, solopreneurs, consultants, coaches, makers of beautiful objects and practitioners of healthy living, communicate their products and services beautifully and elegantly.
What will you receive?
Each project is unique, because your business is unique!
You may want a simple “brochure” website or a full description of your products and services. You may need scheduling or an online shop. We will review your requirements when we speak.
All websites have these four basic components: Visual Design, Navigation, Page Layout and SEO.
I will help you select a color scheme, fonts and images which reflect your work and branding.
I create sites with clean and simple navigation. You want your clients and prospects to be able to find what they need quickly and easily.
Appealing and appropriate page layout is crucial to attract and retain visitors.
Search Engine Optimization is the key to getting you noticed. We will make sure that your pages meet all the minimum current standards.
Here is a partial list of recent clients. They include individual service providers, artists, authors and entrepreneurs. I also implement e-commerce using the free WooCommerce plugin so you have full control over all aspects of your shop.
Each project is unique yet each one is a partnership with my clients. I interview them to determine their goals and objectives and match the visual design to their style and preferences.
Frequently Asked Questions
what are my responsibilities as a client?
Successful projects are a partnership. I need to have your content on the schedule we agree in the website proposal. I also need you to respond to questions within 1-2 business days.
What if i want to move from an existing site?
We will discuss what you want to keep and what you want to change. I will walk you through the process of transferring to a new host if you need to and will handle moving the content you retain.
How long does it take to finish the website?
- How many pages and posts you have
- Whether you need “extra” features such as scheduling capacity or your own shop
- Whether you want additional images to enhance the site.
On average, I usually say that most small projects will take 25-30 days to complete. Once we agree on scope, I will be able to provide a more accurate estimate for your project.
Do You Offer writing or editing Services?
I can provide writing new content or editing existing content at an additional charge to my regular fee.
Do You provide images?
As a photographer I am very concerned about copyright on original images. I have several sites I use which provide free use of images with proper attribution.
Can you assist me to find a reliable web hosting service?
Yes! I recommend SiteGround which I have been using for over a decade. They are WordPress experts and have great customer service.
I need to create a new domain. Can you help?
Yes! I will walk you through the process. If you register it at SiteGround, it will be a one-step process when you create your account.
I designed my first website with two buddies in 1994. It was an online catalog for fly fishing equipment. We had to build everything from scratch. No WordPress, no themes, no plugins, no eCommerce software. Very difficult but great experience.
I’ve handwritten HTML (the web programming language) and designed scores of websites since then using many available tools.
Then I fell in love with WordPress. I experimented with many themes and finally settled on Divi which I now almost exclusively use because of its flexibility and enormous support ecosystem. And, if you want to make changes to your site, after my work is done, like blog posts or updating images or text, you can learn the basics in a short period of time. Of course I am always available for complex tasks.
